Over $325,000 in cash & prizes will be paid out at this event, including a whopping $100,000 in cash to the angler that catches the Biggest Bass of the tournament.

Top Spring Cleaning Tips for Your Vacation Home

It is time to get your vacation home at Lake of the Ozarks ready for summer! Our Lake of the Ozarks mortgage lender knows there is no better feeling than walking into your freshly cleaned vacation home before all the fun begins. Here are some cleaning tips that’ll help you spruce up the place and gear up for an amazing summer!

Make a Checklist

Go in with a game plan on paper, so you are most efficient and not wasting time trying to remember what needs to be done. Until you have your routine down, pen and paper are your best way to make sure you have all areas covered. Experiment with the order in which you complete your tasks, eventually you’ll find the quickest routine to get the job finished.

 

Deep Cleaning Cycle

Initially, before the summer season, you’ll want most areas deep cleaned. Baseboards and ceiling fans aren’t going to need to be wiped every single time you clean but it’s a great idea to knock those places out the first time you clean in the spring. 

Set a Timer 

Come up with an adequate time you think the whole cleaning can be done in. Next time, try to beat that time. This can become a fun game to see how fast you can clean the house…plus a little pressure can keep you focused and moving! Keep your expectations realistic and don’t take it too seriously to the point that you are stressing out. 

 

Always Start with Laundry

The only way to speed up laundry is to start it first. Laundry can take some time, so have it going while you are cleaning the rest of the rooms. 


Use a Cleaning Caddy

It doesn’t have to be anything expensive, just something to keep the commonly used cleaning items close by and all together. This is convenient and you won’t waste your time walking back and forth to find your cleaning supplies. If you don’t want to get a cleaning caddy, a bucket also works to hold everything.

Bulk Cleaning Supplies

Buying in bulk saves you money and time. This way, you will always have your cleaning supplies on hand and won’t have to take time running to the store because something ran out. Keep these supplies at your vacation home to make sure they are always available when they are needed.


Clean from Top to Bottom

Start with any shelves then move to tables and then the floor. Work with the law of gravity, so the dust can fall to the ground, and you won’t have to waste time recleaning areas.


Mop Floor Last

Floors take time to dry so once you have finished all the other cleaning tasks, mop and let dry. You shouldn’t walk on wet floors, so it makes sense to save mopping for last.


Get an Air Diffuser

This is your vacation home; you want to keep it smelling fresh! After all that cleaning, it can leave the house smelling like ammonia. Tone down the pungent smells and diffuse some essential oils like peppermint or lavender. This will create a welcoming environment to walk into!

Shootout Lake of the Ozarks

The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is the largest unsanctioned boat race in the US, named one of the nation’s eight “must-see” boating events according to Powerboat Magazine, the Shootout will take place at Captain Ron’s Bar & Grill in Sunrise Beach (Lake Road 5-50, mile marker 34.5). The event raises funds for eight Lake-area rescue teams and numerous other charitable organizations.

The Young Professionals at the Lake are hosting the annual Dodgeball Tournament again! The teams will compete in a double-elimination style tournament. It's an entertaining event for both participants and spectators! The event will benefit Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption Association. 


St. Charles Boat Show

March 3-6, 2022

St. Charles Convention Center

The latest technologies in the boating industry will be featured at this boat show. Meet local boat dealers and boating accessory vendors, all in one convenient location.
