8 Camping Tips to Make your Adventure a Little Easier.

It's beginning to look a LOT like Camping Season and the Lasson Crew is excited to have their camper already set up and ready to take on nature!!  Over the years, we have learned a few tips that have made camping a little easier for us - we hope these tips will help you enjoy your next outdoor adventure.

1. Create Meal Plans and make grocery list.  This is a simple task but it will make a world of difference in your grocery bill AND how much you pack.  Some staple items that always make our list are ice, smores, hot dogs & buns, non-stick cooking spray, salt and pepper, bar-b-que sauce, etc.  
2. Reduce the space needed for condiments by putting it in smaller containers - ketchup, mayonnaise, syrup, salsa can take up a large amount of space in your cooler.  
3. Wash, pre-cut, label and/or package as many meals as possible in large freezer bags.  This is especially good for any meats that need to marinate. 
4. Store your eggs by cutting an egg carton in half to pack fewer eggs and save space in the cooler.
5. Pack a Cold Food cooler and a Dry Food cooler/container.  This will allow you to keep things like meat, milk and cheese cold while keeping cereals, crackers, snacks and dry food in a secure location from little varmints looking for food..
6. Make sure you have plenty of aluminum foil!  Foil allows you to cook things on an open fire with out the hassle of clean-up.   We also like to bring zip lock bags of varying sizes for storing the leftovers.
7. Don't forget Bug Repellent!! Bugs are pesky and can carry some nasty germs - be sure to protect yourself with a good bug repellent.
8. Plan and pack activities.  We like to take cards, board games, bikes etc. to ensure that everyone is entertained and has an enjoyable trip.
